The United nation’s Global Compact-Accenture CEO study on sustainability included 2.600 CEOs in 128 countries within 18 industries. The study showed 93% of CEOs are experiencing 10 or more simultaneous challenges to their business including inflation and price volatility, scarcity of talent, threat to public health, climate change and trade regulation. The CEOs feel that instability in geopolitics is making the world unable to meet the SDGs while 93% of them feel that sustainability is one of their core duties as CEOs. Their ideas on how to do this include launching new sustainable products/services, increasing sustainability of the value chain and use renewable energy sources.
The study identified key ingredients for CEOs resilience across businesses to be related to: strategy, workforce, supply chains and greater ecosystems, each including 2-5 fields for action, see picture.
